1971

WITH THE ABLE CO-OPERATION OF Late Mr. Pathak, Mr. P.B. Kulkarni, Dr. Kinjawdekar, Mr. Joshi, Late Mr. Sonar, Mr. Hari Prabhu Varthak, Mr. Anantrao Namjoshi, 1 1672.2 Sqm land was obtained where the construction of the school building started

1977
foundation of Vidya Bhawan School pre-primary and primary English and Marathi medium.
1986
Msat. Yogesh Soman figured out 4 th in the Merit list of SSC Board Examination. The history of Vidya Bhawan was written in golden letters
1987
‘Vidya Bhawan’ was the only school in Ghatkopar to get 100% result in S.S.C examination.The principal Mr. K.N. Shirkande was honored by the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University Mrs. Mehru Bengali on behalf of Lions Club of Ghatkopar.
1988
  1. 2045 sq. m. was obtained by the well wishers of the institution
  2. Inauguration of Advance Computer Training Centre
  3. Principal Mr. K.N.Shirkande was appointed in the regional advisory Eductaion committee by association of central schools and Human Resource Development Central Govt., New Delhi
  4. Inauguration of School’s Science Club by Director of Nehru Planetarium Dr. Venkatwardhan
1991
  1. Honourable Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh , Minister for Industries Maharashtra State and Vice Chairman PVG’s visited the school
  2. Foundation of Junior college science faculty
1993
inauguration of K.R. Subramaniam Physics laboratory at the hands of Vice Chairman of Indian Institute of Bankers Mr. Gohiporia
1994
Dr. Salim Zakaria Minister of Education Maharashtra state was handed over an amount of 1 Lakh Rs. Collected by students for the earthquake victims.
1996
  1. A 5833 sq. m. land was available for the school expansion
  2. PVG’s senior Ex student and former chairman Shri Appasaheb Ghargate donated Rs. 1Lakh to the school thereby the foundation of Ghargate Hall of Vidya Bhawan was inaugurated
  3. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Elizabeth High School of Chembur was closed. To solve the problem of education of that school Pune Vidya Bhawan took over Elizabeth School along with all their students and teachers, the able co-operation of Mrs. Sanjivani Raikar and Mr. Prakash Mehta was available at this time of the hour.
1998

The State Bank of India donated an amount of Rs. 8 lakh 14 thousand for expansion of
computer dicision and upgrading of computers

1999

an amount of Rs 80000 was handed over to Mr. Deshmukh, Vice Chairman Education for Karghil Fund

2001-2002
  1. Our principal Mr. Shirkande received the Govt. of India’s “National Teacher Award” on 5 th Sept. at the hands of Honourable Vice President Mr. Krishnakant at the function in New Delhi
  2. Vidya Bhawan Primary Marathi section was the recipient of “ideal school” Award given by Greater Mumbai Municipal School. Primary Headmistress Mrs. Rukmini Dixit received the award from the President of Education committee Mrs. Pranali Vedak.
2003

10 th March Silver Jubilee Valedictory Function Chief Guest was Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh and MLA Mr. Prakashbhai Mehta also honored the function by his presence.

2008

started College of Science and Technology (B.sc. IT and B.sc. Computer Science)

PVG has always given priority to satisfying the educational needs of the poor and deserving students but it has adapted itself to the changing times.
